Teaching
Sardonyx holds contrasting layers together, like courage and tenderness, conviction and humility. Character is built in the joining. It is easy to appear brave in a moment that will be remembered; it is harder to keep choosing what is right when the room is empty and the reward is delayed. God is interested in the hidden architecture of a life. Integrity is not perfection—it is becoming the same person in private that you hope to be in public.
